Une fois les \u00e9l\u00e9ments chauffants chauff\u00e9s, le tuyau ou le raccord est plac\u00e9 pr\u00e8s d'eux pour le faire fondre. Les diam\u00e8tres conventionnels sont DN75 et plus. Les tuyaux soud\u00e9s bout \u00e0 bout sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 parois \u00e9paisses, et les raccords ne sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas n\u00e9cessaires. Pendant le processus de soudage, une machine \u00e0 souder est utilis\u00e9e pour faire fondre le tuyau, qui est fix\u00e9 \u00e0 un cadre. Les raccords \u00e9lectrofusion n\u00e9cessitent un \u00e9quipement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 pour la connexion. Le site d'installation a besoin d'une alimentation \u00e9lectrique de base. Comme les raccords d'\u00e9lectrofusion comportent des fils chauffants \u00e0 r\u00e9sistance int\u00e9gr\u00e9s, le co\u00fbt de l'installation est relativement \u00e9lev\u00e9.
