As a core material in infrastructure and home decoration, the quality of plastic pipes is based on the selection of raw materials. There are four types of raw materials: virgin materials, recycled materials, off-grade materials, and recycled materials. The differences in source, performance, and compliance directly determine the service life, safety level, and applicable scenarios of the pipes.

Raw polymer particles produced by reputable petrochemical companies (such as Sinopec and PetroChina) according to product grades and standard parameters, without use or processing, possessing high purity and the most stable performance.

Main brand products produced by reputable large-scale petrochemical enterprises, such as Sinopec, PetroChina, Borealis, Basel, Dow, LG, etc.

1.High purity and stable performance;

2.Excellent mechanical properties, processability, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance;

3.Transparent or natural color;

4.Complete Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and certificate of conformity are available.

High-safety-level products such as drinking water pipes, gas pipes, and hot water pipes;

Pipes requiring long-term strength (such as MRS) and pressure-bearing capacity.

Non-standard products produced by petrochemical plants during the production process due to process deviations, unstable parameters, etc. Although they are virgin materials, they do not fully meet the technical specifications of the main grade.

Petrochemical plant by-production lines, commissioning phases, and waste materials generally have production batches and serial numbers, but they cannot be sold as primary feedstock.

It belongs to the category of “secondary virgin material”;

— Performance is slightly lower than that of primary virgin material, but usually better than recycled material;

— Price is cheaper, and the appearance and color may vary slightly;

— There may not be a complete test report.

For drainage pipes, cable conduits, agricultural pipes, etc., where performance requirements are not high;

For the low-to-mid-end market where cost control is required.

Plastic materials generated during production or recycled and reused in the market.

Uncontaminated materials such as trimmed material, machine head material, and test material generated during the production process are crushed and reused.

-Same as the raw material formula used in production, with minimal performance changes;

-Pollution-free and traceable;

-Generally, the blending ratio is no higher than 10%.

It can be used to continue producing pipes of the original grade, provided that the amount of blending is controlled within a reasonable range.

Raw materials obtained from waste pipes, packaging plastics, and plastic products through recycling, cleaning, sorting, and regranulation.

— Unstable material source, possibly a mixture of different materials (e.g., PE and PP blend);

— Odor, black spots, impurities;

— Significantly reduced performance, large fluctuations in melt index, and poor hygiene.

Used for non-pressure, non-critical products with low lifespan requirements, such as cable conduits, underground sewage pipes, and drainage ditch covers.

Generally, this refers to raw materials that are directly and physically mixed in proportion to different grades of raw materials (such as virgin materials, off-grade materials, recycled materials, or even recycled materials) without undergoing melt granulation.

Products with lower performance requirements, such as electrical conduit, agricultural irrigation pipes, and drainage pipes.

The performance of plastic pipes largely depends on the type of raw materials used. Whether it is virgin material, off-grade material, recycled material, or blended material, each has its own characteristics and applicable scenarios.
